Overview

Edinburgh is one of the most famous cities in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As a leading Northern European cruise destination, visiting cruise ship passengers have increased by over 50 per cent in recent years.

Edinburgh can welcome virtually any vessel of any size – transit or turnaround. Edinburgh's tourism offer of Culture, heritage and a distinctive experience for visitors makes it a marquee destination for leading cruise lines and a popular choice with visitors, recently voted “Best UK Port of Call".

Leith is Edinburgh’s marquee port, situated next to the award winning tourist attraction, The Royal Yacht Britannia, and Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre. The facilities allow Leith to cater for both turnaround and transit calls, offering a number of non-tidal berths. Adjacent to the Cruise Terminal building is a safe and secure coach/car park. Edinburgh’s historic city centre is just 4km away.

The Port of Rosyth can also accommodate turnaround and transit calls. Located 25km from Edinburgh you will pass below the Forth Bridge, the largest listed building in Britain and one of the most recognisable landmarks in the world. With a maximum air draft of 44m, the bridge stands alongside the Forth Road Bridge and provides a magnificent gateway to Rosyth.

The Hound Point Anchorage lies next to the Bridges and enjoys views to both shores. Only accessible to very large vessels and following a ten minute tender ride to Hawes Pier, Edinburgh City centre is just a 17 km drive away.

Forth Ports are currently developing an additional deep water anchorage at Newhaven Harbour adjacent to the Port of Leith.
